Open Call: Retelling Windrush Residency

This is an opportunity for a collaborative practitioner to work creatively with the maritime themes connected to the experiences of the Windrush generation in Britain and the Caribbean, as part of a project with the National Maritime Museum and the National Windrush Museum.

The resident will work with the collections of the National Maritime Museum, descendants of the Windrush Generation and experiment with approaches to sharing these stories.

The successful applicant will be resident in The Studio at the National Maritime Museum between November 2023 and March 2024 to undertake a journey of creative research, develop their practice and engage with visitors and staff through responses.

Residency duration: November 2023 - March 2024

Fee: £4,000 and £500 for materials

Deadline for proposals: Midnight, Friday 10 November
