The National Lottery Community Fund have been in touch with us to help spread the word about funding opportunities available this year, following a £1.2 million boost to Windrush 75 projects in 2023.

More than 100 race and equality campaigners, community organisations, faith leaders, NGOs and politicians all assembled at an event in Parliament on Thursday 7 December to celebrate the success of efforts to mark the 75th anniversary of the Windrush this year.

On 10 November 2023, the Windrush 75 network was awarded the Community Project of the Year award at the European Diversity Awards. Patrick Vernon and Sunder Katwala collected the award on behalf of all network members, in recognition of the brilliant work put in by so many to mark Windrush 75.

This is an opportunity for a collaborative practitioner to work creatively with the maritime themes connected to the experiences of the Windrush Generation in Britain and the Caribbean. Between November 2023 and March 2024, the resident will work with the collections of the National Maritime Museum and descendants of the Windrush Generation to experiment with approaches to sharing these stories.
